Confirmed from Bayou Marcus Birding Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature trail featuring a boardwalk over wetlands that's popular for birding and wildlife viewing.
What runners say about Bayou Marcus Birding Trail
“clean up after your dogs though 🙏🏽 thankful that they built a beautiful new boardwalk and have it open for our use!”
“The whole walk is raised and has a few shaded benches along the way.”
“Saw turtles, lizards, birds, and squirrels in a peaceful natural setting.”
“Nice for dogs to walk, just bring water for both of you.”
This boardwalk leads you through a beautiful, green wetlands habitat. If you walk the entire boardwalk(round trip), it is about 3 miles long. We have seen birds, deer, snakes, frogs and a Snapping Turtle on our walks. After a rainfall, the wood on the boardwalk can be a little slippery.
Nice and peaceful walk part gravel and the rest elevated boardwalk. Has benches some covered along the way. Beautiful wetlands and woods. Doesn't smell good in some places. Has two entry points on different roads. Boards are old but still manageable. Mid day will provide little shade.
Nice and quiet, and usually not a lot folks. Nice for dogs to walk, just bring water for both of you. The whole walk is raised and has a few shaded benches along the way.
Nice board walk for a leisurely stroll. It took about an hour and a half, stopping for short breaks and taking photos. I would have liked to see some wildlife since it was a Florida Birding Trail, but maybe it’s just not the right time of year. Even so, it was nice to get out and walk. Dog friendly. Very clean.
