Confirmed from Bayou Sauvage Urban National Wildlife Refuge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Was a nice quiet easy place to go to see alligators!”

Little run down but still a beautiful view and great place to stop to enjoy. Along the road you pass the castle house and a little further down is the pull off to the nature area to enjoy the views and the wildlife

Only found a few places to stop and walk. But the few places we found were worth it. Saw a few alligators, jack rabbits, frogs. Really nice to visit here after a day of driving 😊

Was a nice quiet easy place to go to see alligators!! Wanted to be in an area away from the city where we were able to see wildlife without having to take a swamp tour. It was clean, quiet, uncongested with people we were able to walk around and enjoy. There are tables and a bathroom nice area to relax and walk around

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
