Confirmed from Bear Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Bear Creek Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (137 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“The park was small but the new trail is a long winding adventure through the woods with a great view in spots of the bay.”

I had a blast mountain biking the Bear Creek Trail on 4/11/22! The trail was glorious, gravel with some nice variable terrain. There were dips down to the creek with some brand new nice wide wooden bridges, boardwalks, and a nice bench with an overlook of Allouez Bay, seagulls, Wisconsin Point, and Lake Superior in…

I've walked, biked, fat-biked, and snow-shoed this trail. It's awesome to have in Superior! Every season it's a different experience. And it's expanding! The trail already crosses Moccasin Mike Road on the way to Wisconsin Point and goes through the wetlands on the way to the first Wisconsin Point parking lot...

I was very pleased with the Bear Creek bike and hiking trail. It has more hills then I had thought. Superior you think is flat. Beautiful ride to the road to Wisconsin point. It's only 2.5 miles one way. The park itself is large and open. You do hear traffic. I had to swing on the swing set. I'm a kid at heart!

The Black Bear bike path that starts at the park is wonderful. It's 3 miles long and ends at this gazebo by the beach. There are over 30 bridges to cross on the trail. One is a super long floating bridge.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
