Over the course of about 10yrs I've ran my bike on the rails trail probably 40 times. Its a very nice trail and yes I've passed city police cruisers on it often.. so yes it is monitoredwell as well as city workers grooming it.
This is a decent trail. I parked near the Exhibition Coal Mine museum and started on the short spur connecting to it by Adair Street and jogged south towards the hospital. There is a good mix of town views and trees. Not a lot of other folks on it today, but I saw two different county crews doing maintenance.
