We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Piney Creek Preserve (Wildwood Trailhead) yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

An amazing peaceful place to be able to grieve. Beautiful waterfalls and cascades. I feel more at ease mentally and emotionally. This gem is literally 1.6 miles from my home. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

BEAUTIFUL AND EASY!! The Waterfall Hollow Trail leads to two waterfalls featured in the state tourism’s “WV waterfall trail” that features the best waterfalls in the state. It did not disappoint.

This was my 1st time visiting the preserve and I'll admit..it took me a minute to even find my way because there aren't any signs until you actually get to the preserve and Google maps will confuse you! Once I took a minute to get familiar with the map and where I was at it was pretty easy to find..

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
