We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Cranberry Creek Cascades yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Cranberry Creek Cascades
“The trail is well-maintained, and I appreciated the handrails next to the ice-covered short flight of stairs.”
“It's still a gorgeous little place that is tucked away in the middle of town.”
“Easy walks with some great falls at the end!”
Beautiful hidden gem right in the middle of Beckley. I grew up in the area and never knew this place existed. Decent road down to it, large parking lot, and well-maintained short trails will take you to the falls here.
Easily accessible, and a very short walk. If you are in Beckley, WV, it’s worth a look.
Narrow road leading down. One vehicle at a time. The road looks abandoned. Park at the end, before the bridge. Walk down the homemade steps, a bit loose. Follow the unpaved skinny path down and around. You can get right next to the falls. I am assuming you can swim in the falls during the summer.
Great waterfall and just a short walk from the parking area, which looks to be near the end of an abandoned road. Just park near the Piney Creek Preserve sign and head down the path and look to the left and you'll see the waterfall upstream.
