We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Big Cedar Lake Hiking Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Big Cedar Lake Hiking Trails
“The trails are mostly mown grass, no especially beautiful vistas, but it's open and airy and dry.”
Excellent trails for hiking, running, dog walking, bird watching and relaxing outdoors. The frog pond has lots of frogs and the bullfrogs sing rather intensely during late spring. Winter snow shoeing and Nordic skiing. Very scenic. Trails are suitable for running and training with lots of hills, turns.
This is a great place for a family to get a good leisure walk in. I counted over 40 types of vegetation over the three growing seasons. It's fun trying to find catapillers in among the milkweed plants. Just walk and enjoy. If one does the complete loop you'll cover 4 steep hills, your heart will love it.
What a pleasant little place. The trails are mostly mown grass, no especially beautiful vistas, but it's open and airy and dry.
Good trail, mix of flat land and some hills Some signs would help to indicate where the main trail is, at times wasn't sure where I was going.
