Confirmed from Big Springs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Long, narrow park featuring grassy areas for picnics and games, a river and many hiking and biking trails.
What runners say about Big Springs Park
“The park is clean, well maintained, and not overly crowded, which makes it a nice place to unwind.”
“The drive up South fork is scenic, although it can get a bit cramped in the winter if trucks don't share the road well.”
“Incredibly peaceful camping sites, lots of manicured spots as well as more natural spots to bring your family.”
Big springs trail is hands down one of my favorite trails to walk. It’s easy enough for kids and a jogging stroller. Some parts can be tricky if you’re the only adult with small kids and a stroller. But everyone is very friendly. The most recent hike we did, we found some wild Saskatoon berries!
This is one of the most beautiful trails in the provo canyon area! The big Springs loop is a 3.8 mile loop with beautiful views and lots of trees. A beautiful stream runs through the area, with great places to stop and relax. Great year round for hiking, sledding, and nature walks.
This is a fun park. The drive up South fork is scenic, although it can get a bit cramped in the winter if trucks don't share the road well. The city plows the road up to the park in the winter, which makes it a great starting point for snow shoeing and cross country skiing outings.
The starting point for many great mountain bike rides and hikes. Absolutely beautiful any time of the year. Besides the trail, there are several grassy areas and picnic shelters, and a huge paved parking lot that any car can reach.
