Confirmed from Bishop Ranch Open Space Regional Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“A beautiful trail in the city, like a natural fitness center, our family come here very often for a nice one hour hike.”

Super awesome place to hike with friends and family. The hike gets very steep, so be prepared to get good elevation pretty soon in the hike. The view from top is mesmerizing so all the hard work in climbing up gets rewarded by the scinic views. Since this was a steep hike it was not very crowded.

What a lovely open reserve! Extremely tranquil and green these days. Grey Fox trail has a steep slope when you enter the ranch. It doesn't feel that way when you look at the map. So, was quite a shock for an occasional hiker like me. Street parking is near the entrance and there was no rush at all.

Wonderful morning hike, what a beautiful day!! Amaze with beautiful nature's colors and sunrise 🌅🌄. #NATURE It was an amazing experience, a very scenic and beautiful hike. Wild flowers are fresh and full of bloom 😍. Later half of the trail full with flowers 🌻🌻, it's so relaxing, my mind can't express the feeling.

A beautiful trail in the city, like a natural fitness center, our family come here very often for a nice one hour hike. The trail starts with a steep climb at beginning, turning right along a stream, it goes to a nice shade path leading to the submit of the trail where it comes a beautiful view of the city, followed…

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
