Confirmed from Blue Heron Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
30-acre nature preserve with a trail, creek & wildflowers, plus environmental education for kids.

Great place in the heart of buckhead that focuses on keeping a natural area beautiful. Two creeks intersect on the property creating a wetland area with a long boardwalk over to explore. Arts are an important part of what Blue Heron does too.
Picture this: Late afternoon light bathes the north Atlanta city skyline, casting a warm glow. You feel a surge of excitement - today is your adventure to the Blue Heron Nature Preserve, a hidden gem nestled within the urban sprawl. Forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
It is an excellent place to visit within the city limits. There are plenty of park benches for you to sit alongside the trails. The best time to visit this place is in Late Spring and early summer. There is not much to see during the wintertime except for deer. The sounds of the water flowing make up the difference.
I came to get information about volunteering with blue heron but got distracted by the park's beauty. I had to walk a part of the trail while i was here. So beautiful. Can't wait til it's hotter outside.. want to come back and explore and take it all in
