Confirmed from Bob's Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Bob's Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (50 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Scared the heck out of me but other than that it was a beautiful moderate hike.”

Pretty views and not too much of an incline. Took about an hour and twenty minutes to do the 4 mile loop. The first half was beautiful along the hills. The second half is on the road and a trail that's not quite a trail, so be aware of that. Saw 3 snakes and 3 lizards!

★★★★☆ — Amber , Jun 2023

Lovely canyon trail winding along a creek. Avoid when muddy. Great to mix it up with the Highlands and Urban Connector trails.

★★★★★ — John , Mar 2021

It's a shorter loop with some spur trails for longer point to point or out and back trips. It is a little steep in parts, but nothing your average person can't handle, and there are a few stream crossings that require a little bit of agility or a small jump to cross without getting your feet wet if it's been raining…

★★★★★ — Bradley , Jun 2023

Nice trail for hiking also shared with bikes. Did encounter an off leash dog that I think we must have startled around a corner that growled and barked with hair on its back raised. Scared the heck out of me but other than that it was a beautiful moderate hike.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
