Confirmed from Bonneville Shoreline Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Peaceful preserve with trails for hikers, bikers, and dogs, plus Salt Lake City views.

What runners say about Bonneville Shoreline Preserve

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (95 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 10 mentions

“Beautiful place, great views in all directions of the salt lake valley and great salt lake.”

I regularly visit to walk/hike/run. Feels like you are up in the clouds overlooking the city. With awesome views of Antelope Island. We've also been enjoying the side trails that head up over the mountain (about 900 ft elevation gain). We don't have bikes, but this is also a popular place to mountain bike.

A wonderful little preserve to observe the migration pattern of the birds that use Great Salt Lake on their migration routes. It is worth stopping by, but it's a good idea to do it during the migrationary time. The path is on the boardwalk so you will not get wet.

Great views, peaceful surroundings. Lots of people biking and walking.

Truly a Gem in our backyard. The views of the city and the west mountains are great. It is safe, convenient, and hugely variable experience depending on what you want to get out of it. It can be a gentle walk around the contoured trail, or head east and straight up to the many ridges.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 21 mentions

“Nice place for a walk with good views and not generally crowded, but keep an eye out for mountain bikes that come by pretty quickly.”
