Confirmed from Bowery Trailhead (Canal Trail)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Bowery Trailhead (Canal Trail)
“Its a nice easy hike to do with the family.”
Great trailhead with a fun and interesting short walk. The tunnel is blocked off so you can't get out, and there is razor wire on the other side, so you won't get too far along this trail. The tunnel is also filled with a lot of garbage, so that's unfortunate. Still interesting.
I've done this trail more than once...not long but some pretty cool history and just still amazes me the hard work that was put into the trail...Hurricane wouldn't be Hurricane without it. 😁
Had a hard time finding trail. But a nice easy short hike with interesting history. You hike right along the historic canal. trail doesn't go the whole length of the cana
Beautiful scenery, the trail itself was narrow, and even breaking away from the ground in some areas, so if you are taking small children make sure to keep a hand on them or an eye.
Trail conditions & character
“It is dog friendly, but keep an eye out for dogs not on a leash, we ran into a local dog running around, bland was friendly and smart enough to run away.”
“Great trailhead with a fun and interesting short walk.”
