Confirmed from Hurricane Hill Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hurricane Hill Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (100 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 9 mentions

“Mind your feet for loose rock, as there's plenty of it, but it's a fine trail with great views of the valley to the west.”

This review is for the Rim trail to China Wash. In total this is a 6 mile round trip with some good elevation change. Great views everywhere, and Spring wildflowers such as Paintbrush and Globemallow are common (4/22/20). The cactus look like they are going to bloom soon. No snakes (yet), plenty of lizards.

Parking underneath a cell tower or the like. The trail skirts the main road to your right, expect road noise, then you climb up a moderate slope and all that disappears. Mind your feet for loose rock, as there's plenty of it, but it's a fine trail with great views of the valley to the west.

It's just a basic large gravel trailhead with plenty of parking to use the hiking/biking/running trailhead to explore up the side of the ravine with the La Verkin Creek all the way to the top. It's a great trail but has some decent climbs and a few rocky techy spots for biking.

Areas great for off-roading in side by side ATV or truck I went up to Molly's nipple in my truck the road was rough towards Molly's nipple to access the trailhead you need to go on Highway 59 on gould wash Road (see the screenshot for more information)

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
