Confirmed from Brigadoon State Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve for hiking through forests on kid-friendly trails.
What runners say about Brigadoon State Nature Preserve
“It is a beautiful walking trail and I'm not positive of the length but it was a little tough for me weighing 190lbs and not being horribly active.”
“The trail is well marked and there are a few spots that have slight elevation gain but nothing too bad .”
Great trail to get away and enjoy a quiet hike. We only saw one other hiker on the trail. The trail is well marked and there are a few spots that have slight elevation gain but nothing too bad .
I am not much of a walker but was having a bad morning. I decided to drive 30 mins to go for a walk at the nature preserve. It is a beautiful walking trail and I'm not positive of the length but it was a little tough for me weighing 190lbs and not being horribly active.
This is a beautiful place and I hope to return some day. It is not a place to bring a small child or elderly people. It is almost completely untouched by man. This adds to its beauty but limits access. The trail is narrow and has at least one fallen tree. I highly recommend this for healthy hikers. 1 mile trail.
Lovely hike! I'd describe it as rugged, though tons of (super cute) trail markers. One very shallow stream crossing. My 2 and 4 year olds were able to do it in about an hour and a half. Highly recommend!

“Taking the loop by going to the right means you are climbing up the most strenuous bit (as opposed to going left and sliding down a difficult section to the creek.”
