Nice and quiet. Various trails, picnic areas, ATV trails, cute campground / main office area. We stopped by for half a day and it felt like plenty of time without being rushed or bored. One hike we did was Point Rock Trail. There was a section that was a bit steep and rocky.
This is a great state park. Kind of a hidden gem that is somewhat off the beaten path. Incredible views that rival anything else in the state of Alabama. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Everything seemed to be very accessible. I definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area!
We’ve found a gem! Tucked away in a "pocket" in northeast Alabama is the Buck's Pocket State Park. It’s truly an unexpected gem that offers a serene escape for campers, hikers, and nature lovers.
Small. Quiet. Intimate. Peaceful. Beautiful. If any of these words are important to you, you MUST visit Alabama Buck’s Pocket State Park Campground. Only 23 (improved) campsites, about half of which are sewer sites, and 11 primitive sites. All level, well spaced and fully treed.
