Confirmed from Caney Creek Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Caney Creek Preserve
“Beautiful park with trails and playgrounds!”
Great park for hiking with the family, it has 2 entrances, one that leads to the playground and the other one leads to the walking/hiking trail and green space area leading to the creek where kids can splash and play catch and release the minnows.
Nice park for a walk or a run. The trails are gravel, so not totally accessible. Some are open field walks and there’s an option for shady walks through the wooded area.
Hidden gem in Forsyth County. Family and kid friendly trails, good place to get some fresh air, play or do yoga!
Nice park with a moderate short trail for a walk or a run. You can bring your pets, there are two designated parks for small and big dogs. Some part of the trail is open field walks. Upstairs is gravel ground. Plenty of parking space at both ends.

- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
