Confirmed from Carpenter Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Carpenter Nature Preserve
Visited during the 08APR2024 total eclipse. Very nice park, way out in rural Ohio. There were a lot of birds. Cranes, herons, multiple duck species. Extensive trails.
It's a nice little park. Decent trails but not for beginners. The trails are over grown making it difficult to spot snakes, etc. Would only recommend for experienced hikers who want a relaxing easy trail to hike. Also be careful not to step in a hole.
Very pretty, mosquitoes are pretty nuts at times, so bring spray, and occasionally, trees are left over the path. Other than that it's usually maintained well.
