Confirmed from Donaldson Family Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Donaldson Family Trail
Great trail with relatively steep inclines once you pass the water treatment plant (at point A). Very serene despite the traffic noise, and is a decent hike if you’re looking for two miles round trip.
Found this gem while looking for a good place to walk the husky before we packed up the camper. Not difficult and we did the river loop in under 1 hr. The river area is very muddy. So dress accordingly. Overall nice shaded areas and decent hike.
This trail is fairly off the beaten path, and oddly gravel to ground in certian spots. Once the trail opens up it is nice, however one of the paths we walked was blocked by a fallen tree.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
