Confirmed from Gilliom-Cherp Nature Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Gilliom-Cherp Nature Park
“I couldn't believe they give access to the trails for free and it's so well maintained!”
This place is huge and all the people that are complaining about the trails not being perfectly manicured stay in town and walk on the side walk. It is perfect the way it is.
This is my new favorite nature park. I'm from Florida but visit Ohio yearly and was so in love with this place. I couldn't believe they give access to the trails for free and it's so well maintained!
I only hiked a portion of the trail system today, mosquitos are relentless. The areas I found were mostly well maintained. I will be back in the fall when the mosquitos die off.
Great trails, extend a long way along the Black Fork River. The other side of park had many muddy, wet areas that had to crossed carefully. Many trees down across trails.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
