Confirmed from Cason Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic park on local trail network with pavilions, a playground & restroom facilities.

Recommend using the Google app to arrive at the Trailhead. (Apple went to Costco). GREAT spot for all ages and members of the family. If walking your dog in the heat be advised some tar/paved areas do not have shade so walk 🐾 them in the grass or consider alternatives.
Great park ! It's good for kids of all ages , has a fenced in dog area , pavilion, excellent trail. Playground area is the rubber material so it's softer if a kids trips or falls and is good for younger ones to crawl around on .
Our neighborhood trail is very nice. Catch the trail at a good point to get a lot of miles. Left 3+miles to old Fort Park, then on to access the battlefield, cannonsburgh/downtown, gateway island. Right takes you about 4 miles to Barfield Park and the back country trail.
The Carson Trailhead is great. Adequate parking for where it is there are several along the greenway. Wonderful signing for the trail map and information about Wildlife you may see along the trail. I felt safe leaving my vehicle there lots of traffic on the road so be careful pulling out.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
