Lovely day out here hiking around the lake. Beautiful views of lake Georgetown and fairly easy hikes. Be sure to have your dogs on the leash because not everyone is dog friendly and accidentally our friends’ dog was not on the leash and a lady started racist slurs against us ( which seems to be common around the area).
My family and I had an amazing time camping at Cedar Breaks Park. We went camping over a weekend, but you have the option to visit for the day as well. It’s not too far of a drive from Austin. The campsite is clean and spacious. There are grills, fire pits, picnic tables, and running water at each camp site.
Went here for a hike/run on a Saturday morning and started at the Goodwater trailhead. I parked down the road from the park since its free to walk into the park otherwise you have to pay per vehicle. The trail was awesome! Not paved, not flat, an actual trail. I went 5 miles in and turned around. The entire loop is 26.
What's not to love? Beautiful piece if nature to hike, sit, eat, or just contemplate. Went for hike and soaked in the scenery. People were out in the water, splashing about, while some were doing water sports. Very nice location. Drivers were a bit wild coming in.
