Confirmed from Center Hill Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Center Hill Preserve
“Excellent bit of conservation land with marshes, bogs, forest and coastal scrubland all along a beautiful rocky shoreline.”
“The trail side has nice easy trails with little hills and a nice cranberry bog our dogs love to run around.”
Nice park with trails to the beach and through the woods. This beach has lots a beautiful rocks. Great beach to take a nice slow walk. Dog friendly.
This location is gorgeous! We experienced multiple habitats within a 3 mile radius: pine barrens, ocean and beach, pond scape, bog, oak forest etc... There is a high chance of finding seals basking on the rocks at low tide, you will likely see sea ducks, and it's a great spot for birding!
Not the Center, but the beach at Center Hill. No one there when we went twice. Short walk to a rocky beach. Saw some seals. Dog did not love the rocks but enjoyed splashing in the ocean. Privacy a huge plus.
Stumbled upon this spot while out and about. Short walk to a great little beach!

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
