We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Charles F. Ladd Nature Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Charles F. Ladd Nature Preserve
“Extremely rare blackland prairie with a beautiful limestone creek running through.”
The google Maps address for the parking lot is incorrect. The real parking area is located off of Cedar Hill Road. There isn't good signage but it's worth looking for. This is a hidden gem of preserves. I've driven past here dozens of times without realizing the public are welcome to explore. Beautiful hiking.
This is one of my favorite places in DFW! It’s a diverse little slice of Blackland-prairie close to home. From the limestone near ten mile creek to the fields on both sides, this place is incredible.
Extremely rare blackland prairie with a beautiful limestone creek running through. Beavers, river otters, coyotes, foxes, countless birds, and an abundance of life is all over the preserve
