We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Paul S. Dryer Nature Preserve At Windmill Hill yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“This is a very nice and peaceful place, a true oasis for anyone looking to hike or get some exercise without a lot of crowds.”

Went here for the first time the other day and I must say it’s an absolutely beautiful place to go hiking!! Lots of trails and even some with different inclines and views. Loved all the lil gnome friends out there as well! I love when parks do that fun stuff! Very shaded with plenty of trees.

Beautiful trails. Today was my first time visiting. I'm a beginner when it comes to hiking and this place was perfect. My dog even impressed me on some of the steeper terrain. Didn't see much wildlife, but I hope to see more critters as I visit more often. The trails were clean and easy to maneuver.

What a wonderful local discovery! We recently visited the Paul S. Dryer Nature Preserve at Windmill Hill, and I'm almost embarrassed to say that after all these years, I never knew it was here. I’m so glad we finally found it.

★★★★★ — Coy , Nov 2025

Easy to moderate hiking trails, which also look to be good for mountain biking. Long sections are in full shade or dappled sunlight. A few picnic tables dispersed in case you don't want to rest on the ground.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
