I simply LOVE Big Rock Park. This is important to note: DO NOT SWIM HERE. ITS WATER IS DIRECTLY FROM THE SEWERS. (Admittidly, my family and I didn't know the name until just now when Maps asked me to review it, so we always call it the Cliff Park.
We had a great time walking our dog here. There were nice shaded areas. There were areas to picnic. You could cross the river with your pets. When we were there the bathrooms were locked. It was during the day so I don't know if they just don't have facilities right now. The parking was quite full.
Cherokee Park has always called me. Big rock is where you can get into the water to cool down after hiking on the walking trails, or just doing laps on the side of the road. There are people everywhere, but it's still so peaceful.
There is a rock but I wouldn't call it big. Large Broken Rock would better describe it. Near the restrooms begins a trail which if followed will take you to the large broken rock however it not wheechair accessable so grandma was left behind.
