Confirmed from Clark Kerr Fire Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic trail with a steep climb & panoramic views over the bay.
What runners say about Clark Kerr Fire Trail
“Really nice little trail with some beautiful eucalyptus trees at the start.”
Great hiking trail with good views of the city and nature. Many lovely dogs on the trail too.
Nice trail with great views. It starts at the end of Dwight Way, which is a very steep segment. The trail ascends quickly therefore soon you'll be able to see Berkeley from above.
I love this trail, and all of its evolutions through the seasons. Thanks to all the volunteers who manage it!
Great place, provided that you run in the right direction! Like some of the Space Cadets who run in the opposite direction maybe they think it's cool! Then there are those who are walkers who walk in the right direction there is no hate in this area so please if you have complaints about the world the way you feel…

The practical stuff

- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
