Confirmed from Colby Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Lakeside space featuring baseball fields, soccer fields, playgrounds and soccer games.
What runners say about Colby Lake Park
“The shelter was clean and had easy access to the attached bathrooms.”
Great park. I didn't get to explore the whole thing, but near the small building we had my daughter's birthday in was great. There was a big playground, lots of running space, and the building we rented was great. It's a nice place to have a party. Indoor with a.c.
Decent park with a nice playground. Did have a creepy guy come running by the playground while the kids were there for a birthday party. Had his shirt off and was “stretching” while watching the kids play. Keep an eye out.
Beautiful choice of walking paths. Also fun community activities for our kids!
Great park to play at! Love the small playground and the big open field for the kids to run around on. Many great walking trails that you can use to go all over including around Colby lake!
Trail conditions & character
“This is a good sized parked that has plenty of parking and green space.”
“Ball fields, playgrounds, paved trails, bathrooms, rental facilities, pickleball/hockey depending on the season.”
“What I really appreciated was that as it gets dark, the lights automatically turn on, so you can play at any time without visibility being an issue.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
