Confirmed from Tamarack Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Boardwalks, a playground and walking paths are among the features of this park.
What runners say about Tamarack Nature Preserve
“Beautiful playground (only one portable toilet).”
“You can hear traffic and there are houses nearby, but still a peaceful oasis.”
The trail was little wet in March, be prepared. The park is beautiful. You might get to see some chickens
Good place if you love nature and peace . Small trail but beautiful. Soil is moist and you will feel the same while walking.
This was a great walking trail while visiting Woodbury! A lot of it is on a boardwalk, and the second half is more of a trail. We saw a green heron and many duck's while walking around. A lot of great foliage too!
This is a nice quiet trail. The boardwalk is nice so you can see the inside of the swamp and the wildlife. It's not fully accessible if you're in a wheelchair, but you could possibly navigate some parts. The signs are clear about where the trails lead but there doesn't seem to be any distance measurements on them.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
