Confirmed from Commissioners Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“Beautiful quiet little park tucked away from societee.”

This is a fantastic park. It has the most awesome walking path. A little of everything. It's a peaceful family atmosphere. The Pilot truck stop is adjacent to it. I go for a walk every time I'm parked at Pilot.

Park is very well kept. The walking trail is pretty smooth. I enjoy & like this park which is right next to Lincoln Cemetery where I have family. Just have to be careful with the surroundings & geese.

★★★★★ — Carolyn , May 2023

We got here at opening time and left at about 530, what a great day out. Our two year old was able to feed the penguins which was so lovely to watch and he got to meet Peaches for a photo afterwards. We took a little break in the jungle barn while it was raining which was really handy and the kids loved it.

★★★★★ — Margaret , Nov 2020

Very nice park with a trail around the entire park. Has lots of features such as the playground, volleyball court with sand, baseball/softball fields, a pond with ducks and fish, an area to play soccer and American football.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Commissioners Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
