Confirmed from Freedom Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground, plus a trail for walking and biking.
What runners say about Freedom Park
There is a small play area for the kids and large parking lot. But, the reason to come here is the hiking and biking trail.
Looks like a great park although we were not able to get out and walk around. cicadas were swarming! pretty cool.
Great place to park and pickup the Cal-Sag trail. Plenty of parking and shade. Easily accessible from Cicero or I-294. The trail itself is also nice but that another review. I visited early on a Sunday so it was empty when I arrived. I left at about 1030 and the lot was about two thirds full.
Great set of trails and there are alot of dirt paths that can take you through the woods. Great for pictures and exploration. Also has a park for the kids, built very recently, and very clean.
