Confirmed from Conestee Nature Preserve Office's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve with hiking trails, a paved path, a dog park, baseball fields, and kids' play areas.
What runners say about Conestee Nature Preserve Office
“Beautiful park for running, enjoying nature and switching off from everyday life.”
Watch for SNAKES! I suggest pack a first aid kit, a basket, + snacks & water just in case. Took the 4 boys out to "breathe fresh air" & had a blast along all the trails. NOTE: DO NOT SWIM OR GET IN THE WATER. THE SEDIMENT IS CONTAMINATED. There is a warning on the website.
This is a great spot for walking. Even though it was really hot outside, it was very shaded. I felt safe, there were many families walking and it was very dog friendly.
Love this park. The trails are awesome. The playground has lots of new equipment and is kept well. Lots of stuff to do. There is a fenced off area for smaller kids. Lots of things to climb
Very well marked trails, including a paved path trail that stretches about a mile and a half through the preserve with very nice observation platforms throughout.
Trail conditions & character
“I felt safe, there were many families walking and it was very dog friendly.”
“Beautiful park for running, enjoying nature and switching off from everyday life.”
“Nice paved and off the road trails, all sorts of animal watching because the swamp is so diverse, and to top it all off an incredible staff that works at the office.”
“Difficult to find due to the small sign and very limited parking.”
Plan your run at Conestee Nature Preserve Office
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
