Confirmed from Conestee Nature Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What a great place! There are paved and unpaved trails, the unpaved trails are well maintained and easy to traverse. People of all ages were out enjoying the trails. The trails are all well marked. There are also little educational markers along the trails.

The best park in the area! Beautiful walking trails for any age or fitness level and it’s a birder’s paradise. My dog loves coming here as well, just be aware of your surroundings especially with kids and dogs as this is a nature preserve with all kinds of wild animals and reptiles present (a copperhead crossed the…

Loved this nature preserve. So many different paths to take. Though many people were walking through the preserves, there were times when we were the only ones. So nice to experience this nature preserve. It’s right in the Conestee Park, you wouldn’t even know it was there. Plenty of signage to help keep you on track.

This is one of our favorite parks in Greenville. There are trails, both paved and natural. Trail maps are easy to follow and learn and good for those of all fitness levels. I would recommend reviewing the trail map and distances before you set out if you or someone you're with has any difficulty with walking.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Conestee Nature Preserve

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
