I love going here and hiking the different trails. There are asphalt trails, there are dirt trails, there are boardwalk over swamp trails. There's tons of wildlife and birds and things. The trails are well maintained and somewhat easy to navigate (follow the blaze). There is a bamboo forest type of thing.
Conestee Nature Preserve is a great park, much more than I was expecting. I showed up on a rainy, dreary Tuesday afternoon, but quickly forgot about the weather and enjoyed my time exploring. They have trails ranging from 1.2 miles to 3 miles, so there is something for every level.
We absolutely love this park! It is absolutely massive and has a giant playground split into two sections for age groups. They also have a ton of seating under a huge shaded area and a bathroom not too far away. Our favorite part is actual the nature trail along Lake Conestee.
Wonderful place, great walks along several trails in the Preserve, with some sections paved, some having boardwalks and others – natural surface. Beautiful trees, plenty of aquatic plants, wildflowers, various birds, butterflies (but beware of snakes – we saw a young copperhead in the middle of the paved path!).
