Confirmed from Cotton Hollow Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
80-acre retreat providing forested hiking trails, wildlife & a creek for seasonal fishing.
What runners say about Cotton Hollow Preserve
“You do not need to hike very far at all to see some very beautiful rock formations, waterfalls, and tons of different mushrooms 🙃”
“It’s locations, peaceful, beautiful amazing place to come in and meditate.”
“Easy trails and pretty scenery around.”
Two very nice guys told me my dog had to be on leash while on the trail, but not when going in the water... we only came for her to go in the water... she isn't a dog, she's a sea creature! So, i had to try and not laugh... They ended up petting her (off leash) after we came back and she was soaking wet...
Good place for hiking, right next to the river with many good views and boulders. Some are pretty challenging, good shoes for hiking definitely recommended.
Such a beautiful place to hike! To be hiking aside this roaring brook was so peaceful. The scenery is stunning from the variations of stones along the way to hearing the brook flow along the way. It does get steep along the way but the views are just stunning!
Definitely a beautiful hike to see the stone ruins. Followed an out and back trail on the app. Definitely work checking out the old ruins.

- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
