Intended to start at the park but found this trailhead instead. A small, bumpy dirt road will get you to a parking lot for the Cougar Ridge Trail. There are no facilities here!! It’s no small hike to the nearest restrooms and water at the Ranch House, so be prepared! We had no idea how large this preserve is.
Really nice hike. We took Cougar Ridge to Engleman Oaks Loop. The trailhead is across from the parking lot and is not labeled with the trail name. The trail is well worn and offshoots are well marked. Shared with some mountain bikers and just a few hikers. We took the loop to Engleman Oaks and went in reverse of most.
Another great hike! Took Cougar Ridge out to Boulder loop then to Daley Ranch. Then back through Jack Meadow Creek unfortunately on the not so pleasant side the other side has more shade so my friend says as we're roasting in the sun, skin getting that chicharrone look.
Nice, lightly used hiking trail which allows dogs on leash. Much of the first few miles of trail is oak lined. There are some beautiful views once you get higher on the trail, which loops around giving miles of hiking.
