Confirmed from Dauner-Martin Nature Preserve (South Entrance)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Nature preserve offering family-friendly hiking trails where deer sightings are common.
What runners say about Dauner-Martin Nature Preserve (South Entrance)
“Gorgeous, well maintained trails.”
Great trails to walk and see wildlife. Saw an owl and deer just walking and flying the trails. Good for an easy outdoor adventure.
Took my granddaughters to this charming trail June 2017. We spent about 2 1/2 hours and didn't even hit the whole thing. They had a fabulous time. We saw nature at it's best. I had read that there were no markings...
This is my new favorite nature trail. Very smooth walking for long distances covered and easy for older dogs to walk with as well. We saw like 20 deer today! All unafraid and were super interested in us. There is geocaching here as well. Walk until you find your spot and just enjoy the woods.
Lovely place in Fenton to trail. You can easily go with your kids to the short trails, though they are not that long any of them. We spot a couple of deers usually and lots of fungi!!!! Pretty easy to walk def fam friendly and trail beginners. Parking space is limited only a couple of cars can fit there.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
