Confirmed from Dawson Creek's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Dawson Creek

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (222 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“This is a wonderful place to walk on the paved trails and you can feed the ducks just not bread and it's lovely with shady places and beautiful lakes.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 9 mentions

“What a nice and peaceful park to walk around or picnic, read books while enjoying beautiful park and it's nature.”

Dawson Creek is a really nice park during the summer, filled with plenty of wildlife such as geese, ducks, and water voles (which are like big water rats, not beavers). However, thanks to all those animals, there is so much feces on the pathways from all the ducks and geese, which makes it pretty gross to walk around.

★★★★☆ — Tony , Feb 2026

Such a peaceful park for admiring waterfowl. They are pretty calm and friendly with people. Might hiss at you when you’re too close, but no harm in general. Especially in the spring time, many Canada goose families bring new life, however Cackling geese bring bird flu and death.

★★★★★ — Ym , May 2024

A wonderful park. Give yourself at least an hour to fully explore as it's reasonably large when you consider walking all of the paths. Some beautiful streams and seats to sit and enjoy the peacefulness. Plenty of birds and ducks to enjoy also. Pop into the library next door to pick up a book beforehand!

★★★★★ — John , Jun 2022

It is located right next to Hillsboro Brookwood Library. There are 6 ponds/ lakes connecting to each other. Walking along ponds would take about 40-50 minutes round trip. There are a lot of seasonal birds on the ponds, flying, swimming, walking, resting or fighting (with their peers).

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
