Confirmed from Deception Pass Bridge's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Iconic state bridge spanning 1,487 ft., consisting of 2 steel archways & an island in the middle.
What runners say about Deception Pass Bridge
“Even on a gloomy day, the scene was stunning—the mist swirling around the bridge, the water below shimmering faintly, and the rugged cliffs framing the landscape.”
It's a very high two lane bridge; several pull offs where you can park for free. And one parking lot that requires a Discovery pass - public (dirty) restrooms are nearby. You can walk across the bridge on both sides. It's a bit of a thrill with cars rushing by and, if afraid of heights then I wouldn't suggest doing so.
Bridge is a breathtaking sight. I highly recommend taking a detour to stop and explore for a while. There are trails on both sides that lead you down to the beach. Restrooms are conveniently located along the way. This is an excellent place to immerse yourself in nature and spot some seals.
Beautiful view of the water on this bridge and the small “island” on the other side! Went here with a friend and paid $10.00 to enjoy the view of the bridge and walk through the beach side.
We visited Deception Pass after seeing RoosenGaarde Tulip gardens in mid April. The views are magical from this bridge. There is a Mt Baker view from this bridge. You can park in walk across the bridge. It is chilly on the bridge even on a sunny day snd little scary as the traffic passes by fast.
