This is my go to place for a sunset hike the amazing views are perfect. This park has nice benches along the paths as you go hiking around. My first time visiting here and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I only took the Sares Viewpoint trail, but it was a pleasant little hike. It was very easy and didn't take long at all, I don't think it's even quite a mile in length, but it takes you to a beautiful rocky area with a bench and lovely views.
My absolute favorite sunset view. During my vacation in Anacortes I've been here at least 6 times to watch the beautiful sunset. It's a 15-20 min hike from the parking spot to the head. My pictures are from 4 different nights ☀️
Quick hike through the woods and you end up on cliffs looking west over the Puget Sound and Straight of Juan De Fuca. The main trail to Sares Head is fairly easy and about 1 mile each way. There are roots and rocks in the trail so no wheelchairs.
