A beautiful, and peaceful place. Makes you feel In tune with 'nature'. The hike down to the face of the climbing area takes some work, and is rated a 5. If you love nature and landscape scenery, this is your place. Even better, it's totally 'free'. Happy trails.
You can drive nearly to the top on a dirt road with space at the end for quite a few cars. There are camping sites along this route as well, and at least one ORV trail. I was able to get internet at the top of Dome Rock.
A great vista overlooking beautiful mountains. It is very easy to get to with limited walking if you don't mind driving on a dirt road, so it's worth checking out.
Dome Rock is a simple but amazing experience. It is a short drive down the dirt road to the gates. You park and walk up the rock. The view is spectacular! There is no sign for the road. It is on the right after the turn where the granite wall ends, heading towards Ponderosa and caty-corner from Peppermint Work Center.
