Confirmed from Dottie Harper Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Dottie Harper Park
“Gorgeous park, You wouldn’t know it by just driving through on 146th St.”
“Surprisingly quiet and peaceful given the location.”
Another great local park! It has extremely limited parking and I definitely recommend parking down a local street and walking up to the park. This park is wheelchair friendly. Only one disabled parking spot which has easy access to the one picnic table which has a spot just for you.
Such a nice park with an interesting lay out. There is everything you would want at a park (ie. playground, mini hiking area, art sculptures). Some may know that recently, this park was ‘occupied’ by our transient resident population, but city officials have cleared and cleaned the park.
Trail conditions & character
“There is a nice wooded area where the temp is a little cooler from the shade and it offers nice break from the busy traffic nearby.”
“Surprisingly quiet and peaceful given the location.”
“It has extremely limited parking and I definitely recommend parking down a local street and walking up to the park.”
“This was a carnival atmosphere for the Arts a Glow light festival.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
