Confirmed from Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Dr. John Champlin Glacier Park
“Decent hike with one great view and some interesting geological features.”
“There’s several trials that are relatively well marked and there are some pretty views.”
“Great moderate to easy hike right off the beaten path near Misquamicut Beach in Westerly Rhode Island.”
Nice hike with allot of geological history and information. Kettle ponds, glacier moraine, and views of ocean.
Absolutely fantastic for an easy/medium challenging hike (there are some steep inclines and descents, but nothing crazy. Lots of bugs, but that’s just being outdoors. Definitely wear repellent for both mosquitoes and ticks. We really enjoyed the hike.
Decent little hike, you have a choice of a very easy walk or a mildly challenging hilly trail. If you go along the very outer edge it's about an hour. A couple little ponds and chances to encounter cool animals like mallard ducks and turtles. Also during seasonal times you can find chicken of the woods there too.
Topographically interesting. Short, but varied trails. Parking lots at either end of the park, but located on adjacent property to the west. Mosquitoes so be prepared. DEFINITELY worth a look see.

“Great Westerly Land Trust reserve with views of Misquamicut and a few free parking spots next to 91 Kettle Close.”
“I'd give it 5 stars but it is a little smaller patch of forest than I'd rate a 5 and also the parking is pretty limited.”
