Confirmed from Durand Eastman Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

The serene, picturesque scenery is forever changing and is perfect to while away the hours in all four seasons. There are bbq’s, picnic tables, ample parking and beautiful trails to explore. The only gripe I have are the irresponsible dog walkers who ignore the signs to keep their dogs on leads.

I walked the trail around Eastman Lake and it was beautiful and very relaxing. The path has just enough elevation change to get your heart rate up if you walk quickly or go towards some of the steeper sections.

Great park for viewing Fall colors. We hiked both loops that go around Eastman and Durand lake and got amazing photos. There is also a small beach access near the parking lot for catching sunsets. Great time to spend an evening.

Beautiful park to visit. You can walk along the beach or visit one of the playgrounds in the wooded park area. Very nice views!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
