Confirmed from Eagle's View Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area with a lake and paved trails suitable for children.
What runners say about Eagle's View Trailhead
“I simply adore this place it is beautiful luckily there's hardly anyone ever there.”
Sweet and simple walking trail. You can start at the paved trail or at the opposite corner is a gravel trail. The gravel trail is along the edge of Smithville Lake and eventually meets back up with the paved trail. It was about 1.8 miles in length. Great scenery too.
I can't say that I've used this parking area for the actual trail, but it's been great for the occasional kayak outing. It's free to park. It's paved. It's directly off the highway across from the Camp Branch Marina.
First time on this trail. Compared to some of the others at Smithville Lake, gravel is not my favorite thing to walk on, but it's really nice and by the water. Cabin Fever, Crow's Creek, and Anita B. Gorman are maybe a little better, but all Smithville Lake trails are pretty awesome!
Great trail to hike year round. Can generally see eagles there in the winter months but can catch them in the area year round. Nice spot to fish, but it'll eat your tackle so beware. And if you find any its mine I want it back! Hahaha
