Confirmed from East Boise River trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about East Boise River trail
The city seems to keep the Green Belt under constant improvement with both minor maintenance and major upgrade projects. The well-maintained and interconnected trail system serves as an escape from the busy streets, while remaining connected to all of the favorite parks and locations in the wonderful city of Boise.
The gravel area of the east Boise river trail is not for bikes, there are clearly marked signs at each end of this trail, yet I have witnessed numerous people ignoring the rules for this trail and riding their bikes anyway.
Right where there bike path goes into dirt roads along the river and some apartments. A chill place to watch the Fire Department's special water rescue team go up and down the river on thier boat while making huge waves.
So beautiful throughout all times of the year. But cold in the winter and hot in the summer. So many different activities to do along side the Boise River as well. I highly recommend going there for a walk, jog and/or bike ride. And bring the kids along too. They'll have the time of their lives!!!
Trail conditions & character
“The eastern end of the trail is surfaced in a fine gravel, suitable for walking dogs, walking family members, riding bicycles, or going for a run.”

- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
