I had a great experience. Be warned if you're out of shape like me, the full 14 tram trailhead is intense and steep. However, there are plenty of spots to stop and rest. Saw a few people quit at the halfway point. Now that I've got the bad out of the way... the views are amazing and worth the effort!
It's a pretty great trial, there is lots of parking to go there, trail isn't too steep and had some lovely views of the area
Great practice hike for our 50 mile excursion this summer. The middle section is steep enough that we had to pause and rest a few times. I liked that in the morning we were still in the shade for a good while. And all the other hikers were super friendly.
The route I took I got from a book about different trails in the Boise area. Started at the trailhead that's across the street from the golf course, and did a loop that was about 2 miles in distance.
