Confirmed from Eastside Keswick Trails - Hornbeck Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Well maintained and signed trail system. Includes some beautiful views of the river and a good balance of sun & shade opportunities. My dog and I frequent this trail and love it.

The sign at the trailhead says Quartz Hill Trailhead now! It can be an out and back, or you can hook up with other trails and make it a loop. We went to Walkermine and turned back. 8.45 miles. You can go to the dam and loop or turn back for a 26ish mile ride. Easy to moderate ride!

★★★★★ — Kimber , Apr 2025

We hiked on this trail from the parking area to the reservoir about 2.5 miles one way, just under 5 miles there and back. Saw a couple bikers who were respectful of hikers but they typically spooked us given the solitude of the hike. Not much to look at during the hike other than over head manzanita and holly.

I haven't personally walked much of this trail just went there and stopped and parked to get some peace and quiet and do some thinking but it is a beautiful place it looks like and it look like lots of people were enjoying the trails on foot and on mountain bikes.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
