Confirmed from El Cerrito Foundation Memorial Grove's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about El Cerrito Foundation Memorial Grove
“Gorgeous views , great wilderness experience in the city , trees are coning and budding, mushrooms and sap along with wildflowers and logs with lizards 🦎 were found.”
Great place for a little hike close to town. It’s very unassuming or unsuspecting or whatever you call it; just a short hike has great views of downtown Oakland, downtown San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge! We’ve never gone up to the top of the ridge because we’re weak, but I guess there’s better views up there…?
Great view, no frills walking paths with no restrooms, water fountains, or any type of amenity. Just a great place to walk up hills.
Stumbled on this little hike, and was pleasantly surprised! A short but relatively steep 300 ft climb, will reward you with some of the best panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay area!
Short steep hike with a view that makes it very worthwhile. Hiked at sunset, had a beautiful evening with partner and cat!

“The first half of the loop was on fire trails, but the second half was on single track, with interesting placards revealing factoids about the Flora and fauna.”
