Confirmed from Elachee Nature Science Center's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Elachee Nature Science Center

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (99 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“Super friendly staff, beautiful area, a great selection of animals they keep and take care of.”

I hiked the 4.5 mile lakes trails. Nice shaded trail. Well marked blazes. Watch out for spider webs. Not many mosquitoes, even in the summer. The lake has fish and turtles of all sizes. The trail has cool lizards, frogs, snails, and mushrooms.

Friend and I came here for the hike but were delighted to stumble across the science center! All the staff we came across were super nice and willing to point us to the cool things to see. The exhibits are fairly basic but well put together. Definitely stop by inside if you’re nearby to hike!

Came here for the Halloween haunted trail and it was so much fun! Thank you to everyone who stayed late to give us all a wonderful time. Best Halloween ever! Definitely worth the $40

This review is for parents that are needing help on where to send their kids for Summer Camp. We currently live 30-45 min away from this facility & we make an effort to send our daughter here & GEHC for camp due to it's wonderful program.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🔁 Loop trail 3 mentions

“We came to Elachee Nature Science Center after hiking the Lake Loop at Chicopee Woods.”
